Artist's Statement

I have always been captivated by natural, dramatic landscapes. The raw natural beauty of the Himalayan mountains left a lasting impression on me from my early childhood.

In 1982, after what seemed a lifetime of travel overseas and in Australia, I began to paint, focusing on Australian landscapes, using stark vibrant colours, striving to capture something of this land and its heritage.

In 2007 thirty artists were selected by the Australian Trade Commission to represent Australia internationally, I was privileged to be among them. My originals and limited edition prints are in corporate places worldwide.

For the past fifteen years my wife Jacqueline and I have divided our time each year, spending nine months in Australia and three months in the Luberon in the South of France. I am currently working on a series of paintings relating to our experiences in the beautiful hilltop villages of Provence and the Cote d’Azur.

At the end of the day there is little reason for words in 'art'. The artwork speaks for itself. It's up to you, the viewer, if you like what you see.
